Ramp Technician
🌟 The Opportunity
Join our team as a Ramp Technician, where you will be responsible for carrying out cost-effective repairs and maintenance tasks on a wide range of vehicles and equipment. Reporting to the Duty Manager, you will ensure high standards of safety, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and Health & Safety requirements. This role requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
🎮 Key Responsibilities
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks on customer vehicles and equipment in line with Health & Safety guidelines.
Respond to breakdowns within designated timeframes.
Complete all relevant service sheets, job cards, and electronic records accurately.
Provide job status updates and liaise with Workshop Office colleagues.
Comply with all Health & Safety legislation and company procedures, including the use of PPE.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the workshop and customer locations.
Ensure company vehicles are used in line with legal and company policies.
Undertake vehicle manoeuvring around the workshop or airport where trained and licensed.
Report accidents, near misses, and potential hazards through appropriate channels.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote safety in the workplace.
Undertake other reasonable duties to support operational requirements.
🧐 What We Are Looking For
Skills, Experience & Behaviours
Previous experience in a similar role working with GSE, plant vehicles, or heavy equipment (desirable).
Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Good knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
Customer-oriented with strong service delivery focus.
A valid UK manual driving licence.
Eligibility to obtain an airside pass and driving permit.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
Experience in the motor or airport industry.
Exposure to ground support equipment, HGV, or plant equipment.
Forklift licence, HGV/PSV licence, or vehicle hydraulics/electrics knowledge.
Nationally recognised automotive apprenticeship in vehicle repair or technology.
NVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent in motor vehicle servicing and repair. Minimum Level 3 qualified.

🗓 Working Hours/Shift Pattern
